FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How GTM engineering works, what engagements look like, who this is for, and the questions mid-market leaders actually ask before the first call.
The Approach
- What is GTM engineering?
- GTM engineering is the discipline of designing, instrumenting, and optimizing a go-to-market system the way a software engineer designs a product. It treats pipeline as a measurable system with inputs, leading indicators, and feedback loops — not a headcount math problem. The core tools are agentic AI for research and orchestration, signal-based prospecting, and unit-economics-first KPIs.
- What is the Wisdom Stack?
- The Wisdom Stack is the operating model used across DrJoe.me engagements. It layers human judgment on top of agentic AI: AI handles research, signal detection, enrichment, and orchestration, while humans handle qualification, framing, and closing. The result is a small, senior team that out-produces a large, junior one.
- How is this different from traditional sales consulting?
- Traditional sales consulting rebuilds your process, then leaves a binder behind. GTM engineering installs working systems — agents, signal feeds, dashboards, SDR-to-AE loops — that keep running after the engagement ends. The deliverable is a live revenue system, not a slide deck.
- How is agentic AI different from the AI tools we already use?
- Most AI tools sit inside a single seat: a sales rep uses ChatGPT to write an email, or a marketer uses Jasper to draft copy. Agentic AI is autonomous — it monitors signals, triggers research, drafts outreach, and updates your CRM without a human starting each task. It works across the funnel instead of inside one seat.
Engagements & Pricing
- What does a typical engagement look like?
- Engagements start with a GTM Diagnostic Call that maps your current pipeline economics, ICP, signal sources, and tooling stack. From there, most clients move into a 90-day build phase to install agentic workflows, define stages and leading indicators, and engineer the SDR-to-AE loop. After day 90, most relationships shift to a fractional retainer for ongoing optimization.
- How long until we see results?
- Leading indicators (signal coverage, meeting quality, response rates) move in the first 30–45 days. Pipeline impact shows up between days 60 and 90. Closed-won revenue impact is typically visible by month 4–6, depending on sales cycle length. We benchmark against your own pre-engagement baseline, not vendor averages.
- Do you replace our existing sales tools?
- Almost never. The vast majority of engagements use the HubSpot, Salesforce, Sales Navigator, Outreach, and Apollo stack the client already pays for. The work is making those tools earn their cost through better signal feeds, cleaner stage definitions, and AI orchestration on top.
- Do you work month-to-month or on a fixed scope?
- Both. The GTM Diagnostic Call and 90-day build are fixed-scope, fixed-fee. After that, fractional engagements run month-to-month with a 30-day notice. There are no annual lock-ins.
- What does the GTM Diagnostic Call cost?
- The GTM Diagnostic Call is a flat $500. It is a focused working session that maps your pipeline economics, ICP, signal sources, and tooling stack, and ends with a clear go / no-go on whether further engagement makes sense. No proposal theatrics, no surprise line items.
Who This Is For
- Who is the ideal client for DrJoe.me?
- Mid-market B2B companies with 50–350 employees (up to 500 for high-growth tech) that have executed a workforce reduction in the last 3–6 months, still own the same revenue target, and are open to replacing volume-based outbound with signal-based, AI-orchestrated GTM. Most have $10M–$150M in revenue.
- Is this for startups or only mid-market?
- The methods apply to startups, but the engagement model is built for mid-market. Companies under 50 employees usually need a player-coach, not a fractional engineer. We refer those conversations out when fit is wrong.
- We are not post-layoff. Is this still relevant?
- Yes — though the urgency is different. Companies that have not cut still benefit from installing AI-native orchestration before competitive pressure forces a cut. The work is preventative rather than reconstructive.
- Does this work for technical or specialized products?
- Yes. Signal-based prospecting and agentic orchestration actually perform better in technical, specialized categories where the buyer signal set is rich (job changes, funding events, tech-stack changes, regulatory triggers) and the ICP is narrow.
Team & Tooling
- Will we need to hire new people?
- Usually the opposite. Most engagements reduce required headcount by 30–50% while expanding pipeline. The team that remains becomes senior, signal-driven, and AI-augmented. If a hire is needed, it is typically one senior GTM operator, not a new SDR class.
- What happens to our existing SDR team?
- SDRs are either upskilled into signal analysts and AI orchestrators, or transitioned out depending on aptitude and willingness to learn the new model. The role of cold-call SDR is being phased out across mid-market B2B. The work is helping your team make that transition deliberately rather than reactively.
- Do we own the AI agents and workflows after the engagement?
- Yes. Everything built lives inside your stack — your CRM, your sequencer, your data warehouse. There is no proprietary platform you have to keep paying for. The IP transfers with the engagement.
